The class action is for individuals who were trapped in a vehicle on portions of Highway 13 South and Highway 520 East in Montreal during the period from March 14, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. until March 15, 2017 at noon.
Criteria to be respected
On June 19, 2019, the Superior Court rendered a judgment approving a settlement agreement between the Attorney General of Quebec (hereinafter "AGQ") and the plaintiff Mr. Beauchamp providing for the payment of indemnities to the members of the class action.
Raymond Chabot Administrateur Provisoire Inc, an affiliate of Proactio and Raymond Chabot Inc, has been appointed administrator of this settlement agreement between the plaintiff and the AGQ.
In this case, we have distributed indemnities to over 2,300 individuals who demonstrated their eligibility.
On July 7, 2022, the Superior Court issued a judgment finding that the agreement with AGQ has been fully executed and the distribution of indemnities under the agreement has been completed. The Court therefore declared the class action partially closed, namely for the portion against the AGQ.
The class action continues against the City of Montreal as it has not concluded a settlement agreement with the Plaintiff.
