The Quebec Court of Appeal has rendered a judgment ordering the Government of Canada and GD-OTS Canada Inc. to compensate persons who resided at certain addresses in the municipality of Shannon in Quebec City from 1995 to 2006 for the harm they suffered as a result of trichloroethylene ("TCE") contamination of the groundwater or for the inconvenience caused by the work to connect them to the water supply system.
Criteria to be respected
- You were 18 years of age or older on December 21, 2000
- You lived in Shannon between April 1995 and June 2006
The addresses and time period covered by the class action are listed in the amended Appendix A.
Compensation ranges from $250 to $1,000 per month of residence.
A lump sum for child care of $3,000 may also be awarded in some cases.
