When we are involved in a case class action, it is because we have been mandated by the Superior Court or by the parties to the case. We may then have been mandated to act as claims administrator, to circulate notices to members, to communicate with class members or to support the parties with our expertise. We therefore play a different role from law firms at class actions and do not represent the claim or the defense.

Proactio also offers their services in the context of other mandates, for claims management, such as in a company liquidation. We may then be called upon to develop a claims process, communicate with those concerned by the process, and ensure the distribution of cheques or Interac transfers. In these other mandates, we may be mandated by the liquidator or by the company directly.
